ADAPTIVE SURF SCHOOL Shaka Surf Camp has also taken the time to construct according to ADA guidelines for handicap accessibility. It is the only ADA certified surf camp in the Nicoya Peninsula that is open for non-profit work with children with autism, cancer, and physical disabilities for scheduled week long camps though out the year

ACTIVITIES: Although surf instruction is the main theme of the camp, there are many other activities to enjoy while vacationing in this amazing country. Here are some of the activities our staff can help arrange if you decide to take a break from surfing... Surf camp activities

PACKAGES: Each cabina comes with a queen size bed, and a single size bunk or daybed, all pillow tops. Also included are a private safe, ceiling fan, high quality linens, kitchen counter and sink, closet, spacious terrace and bench, and a hammock to make your stay enjoyable. Welcome to Shaka Surf Camp in Costa Rica ! We are a new facility just steps from beautiful “Playa Hermosa” beach near Mal Pais and Santa Teresa.

We are proud to say we designed and oversaw the construction of our entire project. Every last detail was custom designed with you, our guest, in mind! Secluded from the world, you are surrounded by the lush tropical green jungle, and just steps from the beach.

Shaka provides world class surf instruction with the beginner and intermediate in mind. Our resort welcomes families, couples, single travelers, or groups.

We offer a fully inclusive paradise vacation blending the serenity of the ocean with the vast and rich culture of Costa Rica. Your stay with us will rejuvenate your body while unplugging your mind from the rest of the world . You will feel amazing and never want to leave.

While developing friendships with other guests, you will embark on a personal journey to find your own definition of the Pura Vida (Pure Life) surfer.


Our camp is a quick 3 minute walk to one of the largest and most beautiful beaches in our region. The beach is very quiet and secluded and has an amazing sand bar beach break which is great for all levels of surfing. The break offers year round warm water and excellent waves.

Located on the Pacific coast of Costa Rica , Shaka Surf Camp is on the southern tip of the Nicoya Peninsula in a small village named Playa Hermosa. Playa Hermosa is just north of Santa Teresa and South of Manzanillo. It is a residential living community surrounded by endless beaches and tropical rainforests; you will enjoy breathtaking views of the ocean, landscape, and local wildlife.
