Shaka Surf Camp offers 3 volunteer opportunities year round. Learn how to surf in Costa Rica, study Spanish, and gain experience abroad.

The first is for an Adaptive Camp Volunteers. Several times a year Shaka hosts week long trips with Ocean Healing Group for injured athletes and their families. Volunteers help both in the water and at the camp to organize activities. For more information contact us.

The second volunteer opportunity is for a Surf Camp Assistant . In exchange for room and board, the assistant will help in all areas of the running of the camp. Some of these include entertaining guests, assist in menu planning and at meal time in the dining area. Our volunteers in the past have spent many hours in the water and greatly improved their surfing ability.

The third opportunity is for a Volunteer Surf Instructor (must have minimum 4 yrs surfing exp) . In exchange for room and board, the volunteer will give up to 6 surf lessons per week and assist in ocean and camp related activities. These may be in the morning or afternoon, and will still leave lots of time for your own surfing.
